The Brief

Reimagine the legacy of Minnesota’s most iconic summer festival—Taste of Minnesota—for a new generation, while honoring its cultural roots. Create a large-scale, multi-day public event that feels fresh, inclusive, and unforgettable in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis.​

What I Did

As Festival Designer and Guest Engagement Lead, I played a key role in bringing the Taste of Minnesota back after nearly a decade-long hiatus—welcoming over 100,000 guests across two days. I designed and introduced a series of curated “neighborhoods” throughout the festival grounds, each offering its own distinct vibe and interactive experiences. From vibrant live music zones to local maker markets and family-friendly activity areas, each neighborhood gave guests a reason to explore. I led the full creative development, from spatial layout and stage design to signage, wayfinding, and brand integrations—ensuring the entire footprint was immersive, intuitive, and exciting from end to end.​

 

The Vibe

A city-wide celebration bursting with energy and Minnesota pride. With music in the air, curated experiences around every corner, and crowds spilling into every neighborhood, the festival felt like a summer block party on overdrive. It was a nostalgic return with a bold, fresh take—one that left guests smiling and coming back for more.
